Alexandru Balasescu

is an anthropologist, writer, curator and art critic who has also worked as a diplomat and a television producer. He was born in Romania and has lived in France and Iran. His work is centered on the relational aspects of the human body in both its cultural and material manifestations, the economy, and the environment – natural, built, cultural, lived. He is co-founder of subliant/3:1, 4 and has published books and articles on transportation, Islamic fashion, urbanism and art, most notably his work, Paris Chic, Tehran Thrill.
